Nivo is a secure instant-messaging platform for customers to contact institutions and businesses securely and asynchronously, enabling a far wider range of interactions, which previously would have required a customer to go to the business several times with paper-based documents or engage in a lengthy phone call. Nivo removes the need for customers to constantly go through lengthy security questions by saving the customer’s profile and identification and verification level (ID&V) across multiple institutions.
Mikel and Matt engaged with tsf.tech as part of the Barclays Accelerator programme to help build out their business idea, born from their experience of several years in corporate banking.
The initial engagement began with tsf.tech’s CTO providing architecting and design services to outline the solution, before a team of developers, together with the Head of Design and Head of Projects were onboarded to drive the development forward. The initial development included two third parties – SQR developed the first version of the iOS application (Nivo App), and Callsign who handled the passwords and security aspect of registration and login for customers.
The early web application (Nivo Hub) was built using Scala and the Play framework in a microservices architecture hosted in the Cloud on AWS with Jenkins being used for continuous integration and deployment (CICD). Latterly, under the leadership of Tim Tenant (CTO) and with a successful funding round secured and strong NED team, the product continues to be developed as a leading-edge solution.
