BankiFi

Background

BankiFi offers ‘beyond banking’ services, such as invoicing, payments, nudges, cash management and accounting, to businesses. But it doesn’t compete with banks, rather it offers the services to banks which can then create bundles to meet the needs of their customers with such features as bank-branded accounting engines at a fraction of the cost a business would pay to buy the software from separate vendors like accounting package providers and niche banking services apps.

Mark’s pitch was simple: The bank is the platform,  BankiFi is Open Banking at work.

BankiFi helps business customers see things through a different lens. BankiFi’s approach was to bundle sets of microservices to build the right solution for your business relevant to specific challenges at a specific moment in time. Mining relevant data from multiple sources for actionable insights, giving nudges around liquidity, cash management, invoicing and collections through the  ‘Request to Pay’ service.  

BankiFi has become our largest investment. We took the relationship from initial MVP build, through to hiring and building the initial tech team, to CTO-as-a-Service and then helping early customer adoption with technical product support. With two funding rounds secured, BankiFi is well placed to become a high growth entity in the global fintech marketplace.
